Preparation procedure
- Preparation of the bottom dough: Put the flour, almonds, sugar and chopped butter into a bowl. Knead into a crumbly mixture. Add the rum and the yolk. Work into a smooth dough and chill for at least 2 hours. From the rolled-out dough cut out ovals and bake dry at 180 °C until they acquire a golden color.
- Preparation of the top part: Mix all the ingredients for the top (ground sponge biscuits, powdered sugar, butter, ground nuts, rum, milk and cocoa) and work into a dough. Fill the dough halfway into the opening wasp-nest molds. After filling, turn the molds out and let dry.
- Preparation of the cream: Whip the softened butter with the powdered sugar until fluffy. Add the egg liqueur mixed with the powdered milk and blend thoroughly until the cream is smooth and creamy.
- Assembling and decorating: Pipe the cream into the prepared wasp nests. Attach to the oval pieces of dough and decorate as desired.
