Ingredients: 4 eggs; 80 g powdered sugar; 15 g cocoa; 25 ml sunflower oil; 80 g semi-coarse flour; 1 teaspoon baking powder; 250 g mascarpone; 150 g powdered sugar; 500 g quark; 300–400 g fresh strawberries; a packet of cake jelly (according to instructions)

Preparing the base: Beat the egg yolks with the powdered sugar until frothy, add the cocoa and oil. Stir the sifted flour mixed with baking powder into the egg mixture.

Folding in the egg whites: Whisk the egg whites into stiff peaks and gently fold them into the batter.

Baking: Pour the batter into a pan lined with parchment paper (size approx. 20×30 cm). Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for 12 minutes. After baking let the base cool, remove it from the pan and then return it to the pan.

Preparing the cream: Beat the mascarpone with the powdered sugar until smooth, add the quark and beat again. Spread the cream evenly over the cocoa base.

Chilling: Cover the pan with the base and cream and place it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to set.

Preparing and applying the jelly: Wash and dry the strawberries and arrange them on the cream. Prepare the cake jelly according to the instructions in juice or water and let it cool slightly. Then carefully pour the jelly over the strawberries.
