Pagáčiky made with cheese spread are a traditional pastry that must not be missing from any celebration here. They are tender, moist and very tasty. This recipe is versatile – the dough can also be used for rolls or other savory bites.

Preparation procedure
- Preparing the starter: Heat 0.5 dcl of milk and add the yeast and a little sugar. Let stand until the starter has risen.
- Dough preparation: On the work surface, pour the flour, add the yolk, salt, cheese spread, butter and sour cream. Work the risen starter into the mixture and knead the dough. The dough will be sticky, which is fine — this will make the pagáčiky moist and tender.
- Resting the dough: Wrap the dough in cling film and place it in the fridge for a while so it firms up and is easier to work with.
- Shaping the pagáčiky: After chilling, roll the dough out to about 1 cm thickness and cut out small circles. You can decorate them with a lattice pattern using a fork.
- Baking: Transfer the pagáčiky to a baking tray lined with baking paper, brush them with egg or yolk and sprinkle with sesame, poppy seeds or other seeds. Bake in an oven preheated to 200 °C for 20–25 minutes, until golden.
- Serving: After baking, let the pagáčiky cool and serve.
