This delicate, soft and crumbly dough is great for making crescent rolls, but also for pies, small pastries and strudels. Thanks to its easy preparation, even children can work with it. The finished crescents are tasty and literally melt in the mouth.

Preparation procedure

  • Dough preparation: Grate the chilled butter into a bowl. Add the flour, lemon juice, sour cream and egg yolks. Work the dough and put it in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours.
  • Glaze preparation: Whip the egg whites with the sugar and vanilla sugar.
  • Shaping the crescents: Divide the dough into three parts. Roll each part into a circle, spread the egg white glaze and cut into triangles. Roll a crescent from each triangle.
  • Baking: Place the crescents on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C until golden.
  • Finishing: Let the baked crescents cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
