This quark cake, known as „tvaroháček“, has been popular for years and we never get tired of it. Children love it and it’s great as a dessert for various occasions.

Preparation procedure

  • Preparation of the dough: Grate the butter and mix it with the other ingredients. Knead into a uniform dough. Divide the dough into two halves.
  • Forming the base: Roll out one half and layer it onto a baking sheet greased and sprinkled with flour, covering the bottom and edges with the dough.
  • Preparing the filling: In a bowl, beat the quark with the egg yolks, powdered sugar, lemon zest and finally stir in the raisins. Spread the filling evenly over the prepared dough.
  • Creating the lattice: Roll out the second half of the dough and cut it into strips. Place these strips over the filling so that they form a lattice.
  • Baking: Spread sour cream on the top of the cake. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C for about 25-30 minutes, or until the surface is golden.
