Preparation procedure
- Preparing the dough: First, beat 2 whole eggs with 1/2 cup granulated sugar until you get a fluffy mixture. Add the sour cream, semi-coarse flour and baking soda. In a small saucepan, melt the butter and stir it into the mixture. You should end up with a batter that is reasonably runny.
- Preparing the quark mixture: In a second bowl, mix mascarpone (or soft quark), the remaining 1/2 cup sugar, vanilla sugar and 3 eggs.
- Preparing the pan: Thoroughly grease the baking pan with butter and dust it with flour so the cake doesn't stick during baking.
- Filling the pan: Pour the batter around the edges of the pan and pour the quark mixture into the center.
- Decorating with fruit: Add fruit to the top of the cake to taste – we recommend strawberries, which will give the cake freshness.
- Baking: Place the cake in a preheated oven at 180 °C and bake for about 30 minutes, until the batter is nicely golden.
- Cooling and serving: After baking, let the cake cool so it can be easily removed from the pan.
