Preparation procedure
- Preparing the dough: If you choose the faux puff pastry, mix all the ingredients together and let them rest in a cool place for several hours. Roll out the puff pastry or faux puff pastry into a thin large sheet.
- Cutting and shaping the tubes: Cut the sheet of dough into strips about 2 cm wide. Cut the strips in half. Wrap the dough strips around the tube molds, overlapping the dough slightly so the filling won't leak. Press the ends of the dough with your fingers.
- Baking the tubes: Transfer the tubes to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush with the beaten egg mixed with water. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C for about 15 minutes, or until the surface of the tubes is golden.
- Preparing the filling: Cook the pudding from milk, pudding powder and granulated sugar according to the instructions. Beat the soft quark or cream cheese with the powdered and vanilla sugar. Gradually fold the cooled pudding into the quark or cheese. Whip the cream until stiff and gently fold it into the pudding-cream mixture. Fill the cream into a piping bag and dust the filled tubes with powdered sugar.
- Preparing the chocolate cream: Cook the chocolate pudding according to the instructions and let it cool. Stir 2 tablespoons of whipped butter into the cooled pudding. Use a piping bag to fill the cones with the chocolate cream.
