This honey slice is a great dessert that will please all lovers of sweet treats. It’s a luxurious version of the well-known Marlenka, which is made without rolling out dough. Thanks to the simple method and great taste, it will become a favorite pastry for any occasion.

Preparation procedure

  • Dough preparation: Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Warm the butter, sugar and honey over a double boiler until everything melts and combines. Once the mixture is ready, add the eggs and mix well. Add the baking powder mixed with the flour and beat well with a hand mixer. If the batter is too thick, add milk as needed. Pour 1/4 of the batter onto a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake for about 10 minutes. Repeat this process with the remaining batter.
  • Cream preparation: Cook a pudding from the milk, semolina and sugar according to the instructions. After the pudding has cooled, stir in the whipping cream.
  • Assembly: Spread half of the cream on the first layer of dough. Cover with the second layer of dough and spread with apricot jam. Add the third layer of dough and spread the remaining cream. Top with the last layer of dough.
  • Glaze preparation: Melt the chocolate in the whipping cream and pour over the top of the cake. Let it chill until set (preferably overnight).
