Vanilla cups with chocolate filling are an ideal choice for anyone who wants to add something elegant yet genuinely homemade to the Christmas table.

The crisp vanilla pastry, delicate chocolate cream with a creamy consistency and the option to decorate them as you wish make them an ideal addition to a festive platter.

Preparation procedure

  • Dough preparation Sieve the flour into a bowl, add the vanilla and powdered sugar, the egg yolks and the cold butter cut into pieces. Quickly work into a smooth dough, wrap in cling film and chill for 30 minutes.
  • Baking the cups Lightly grease the metal molds and dust with flour. Break off small pieces of dough and press them into the molds in a thin layer. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 °C for about 10 minutes – watch so that the dough only turns golden. Turn out the hot cups and let cool.
  • Chocolate filling Heat the milk and add the broken chocolate. Stir until the chocolate has melted and let the mixture cool to room temperature. Whip the butter with the powdered sugar into a light foam. Gradually beat in the chocolate mixture and finally the Nutella. The result should be a smooth and fluffy cream.
  • Filling the cups Place the cream in a piping bag and pipe into the cooled cups. Let harden in the fridge for at least an hour.
  • Finishing Dip the tops of the set cups in melted chocolate and decorate to your liking. Let them fully set in the fridge.
