These yogurt mini-doughnuts are the perfect combination of fluffy dough and delicate flavor. Thanks to the yogurt they are light, moist, and almost immediately ready – without lengthy rising. You can prepare them in no time and they will delight the whole family and guests.

Preparation procedure

  • Preparing the dough In a bowl, whisk the egg with the sugar until frothy. Add the yogurt, mix, and gradually fold in the milk with the lemon zest.
  • Dry ingredients In another bowl, sift the plain flour with the baking powder. Gradually add the initial dry mixture in parts to the wet mixture and stir until a smooth dough without lumps forms.
  • Frying the doughnuts Heat the oil in a pan to about 170 °C (roughly until bubbles form on the surface of the dough). Using two teaspoons, form small doughnuts (diameter ~3 cm) and fry them for 2 minutes on each side until golden.
  • Coating in sugar Let the finished doughnuts drain briefly on paper towels, then coat them in granulated sugar while they're still warm.
  • Serving Place them on a tray and serve warm with a cup of coffee or tea.
