Every morning many of us prepare coffee as a ritual to kick-start the day. Some add milk, others reach for cream. At first glance it may sound strange – who would voluntarily put butter in their coffee? But this combination turns out to be surprisingly beneficial. Butter gives coffee a velvety, smooth taste. That, however, is not the main reason this trend has appealed to so many people.

- Prepare a quality black coffee
- Add one teaspoon of unsalted butter (preferably organic)
- Optionally add a teaspoon of coconut oil
- Blend everything with an immersion blender until a smooth foam forms
