- Preparing the batter: Grate the apples into a bowl. Add the ground poppy seeds and mix well. Then add the ground nuts, coconut and pour in the milk. Stir in the eggs and honey. Mix until a uniform batter forms.
- Preparing the pan: Grease a smaller pan (approx. 20 × 20 cm) with butter and dust with coconut. Pour the prepared batter into the pan and spread evenly.
- Baking: Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Place the pan in the oven and bake for 35 minutes.
- Finishing: Let the finished poppy-seed cake cool. Whip the whipping cream until stiff and spread it on the cooled cake.
