- We mix the sugar and yeast into the warm milk. We wait until the yeast becomes frothy.
- In a bowl we mix the flour with salt, butter and quark. We mix the egg with the cream and add this mixture to the flour.
- We add the sponge to everything and knead a firm dough. Place it in the refrigerator for an hour.
- After an hour we take the dough out of the refrigerator and roll it on a floured surface into a slab roughly 1.5 cm thick. We sprinkle it with garlic and fold the sheet in half, again in half, and once more in half.
- Let it rest for 10 minutes, then roll it out and fold it again. Let it rest another 10 minutes, roll it out again and fold it again. Roll this processed dough into a final sheet 2 cm thick.
- Using a cup, cut out individual rounds.
- If you don't want to bother with the folding, add the garlic straight into the dough. You won't have to work it in this way.
- Transfer the rounds to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and preheat the oven.
