Banana Dream is a dessert that truly deserves its name. A delicate cocoa sponge, airy quark cream and sweet banana slices form a flavor combination that will disappear in no time. The recipe is simple and is great for family celebrations, weekend treats and festive tables.

Preparation procedure

  • Cocoa sponge Separate the eggs into whites and yolks. Beat the yolks with the sugar until thick and foamy. Gradually add the oil and water, continuing to beat. Fold in the flour, baking powder and cocoa. Finally, gently fold in the beaten egg whites. Spread the batter onto a baking tray (approx. 30 × 40 cm) lined with baking paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C for 20–25 minutes. Let cool completely.
  • Cream From the milk, pudding and sugar, cook a thick pudding and let it cool to room temperature. Beat the butter until fluffy and mix in the quark. Gradually work in the cooled pudding. Whip the cream separately until stiff and gently fold into the cream.
  • Assembling the dessert Slice the bananas into thicker slices and evenly cover the cooled sponge with them. Spread the quark cream over the bananas and smooth it. Pour over the chocolate glaze and chill for 2–3 hours so the cream and glaze set.
  • Serving Cut into slices of the desired size and serve chilled.
