Do you crave fresh homemade bread but don’t want to wait for it to rise? This quick bread made from yogurt, flour and baking powder is brilliantly simple and ready in a few minutes. The flatbreads taste great warm or cold and go well with soups, salads, spreads, or just with butter.

Preparation procedure

  • Preparing the dough: Into a bowl, add the flour, baking powder and optionally the salt. Add the yogurt and stir until the ingredients come together.
  • Kneading: Transfer the dough to a floured work surface and knead briefly. It should be soft and elastic.
  • Shaping: Divide the dough into 10 parts, shape a ball from each and then flatten it with your palm or a rolling pin into a disk about 1 cm thick.
  • Baking: Place the disks on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake in an oven preheated to 200 °C for about 12–15 minutes, until they turn golden. Alternatively, you can also cook them in a dry pan.
  • Serving: After baking you can brush them with olive oil and sprinkle with herbs. Serve warm or cooled.
