Homemade egg spread is unbeatable – simple, creamy and holds its shape nicely. Thanks to sour cream it is light and juicy, mild mustard adds a pleasant flavor and a pinch of ground caraway ties everything together. Great on fresh bread, in sandwiches and as a quick dinner.

  • Base of the spread Peel the eggs. Put the yolks into a bowl and mash them with a fork until smooth together with the mayonnaise, sour cream, mustard, caraway, salt and pepper.
  • Finishing Chop the egg whites into larger cubes, add them to the base along with the finely chopped onion and mix gently.
  • Resting Cover and leave in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to let the flavors meld. Serve on fresh bread, rolls, or toast.
