Preparation procedure

  • Use 1 liter of water for each kilogram of belly. Put the water in a pot over the heat, salt and pepper it.
  • While the jelly is boiling, prepare the meat. Wash it and remove the skin with a knife (optional).
  • Cut the cleaned belly into smaller pieces.
  • When the salt dissolves in the water, add the belly to it.
  • Cover and bring to a boil.
  • Once the bacon begins to boil, remove the foam, reduce the heat and cook for exactly 5 minutes.
  • After it has finished boiling, add the pressed garlic to it.
  • Cover it and place it in a cool place for 12 hours.

This prepared bacon can be stored in the freezer or enjoyed right away for dinner. The bacon is tasty, the rind is soft and everything is ready to eat. You can sprinkle it with paprika, pepper and dried herbs – the choice is yours.
