  • Crumble the yeast into a larger bowl, add the sugar, and mix into a paste.
  • Then pour in a little warm water, cover with a cloth, and leave the starter to rise in a warm place.
  • Sift the flour into a bowl, add the remaining ingredients, the risen starter, and work into a smooth dough; let it proof for at least 3 hours.
  • The longer the dough rises, the more holes the bread will have.
  • Shape the risen dough into loaves as large as you like and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Preheat the oven to 250 ℃ and put the prepared bread inside.
  • Bake for 15 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 220 ℃ and bake for another 35 minutes.
  • Remove the baked bread from the oven, brush it with cold water, and let it cool.
  • Store like regular baked goods.
