Coleslaw is a popular side dish for many meals, whether it’s fried chicken, grilled meat, or just a simple lunch. With this recipe you can make a light homemade version that tastes almost like the original from KFC!

  • Vegetable preparation: Cut the cabbage into thin strips. Peel the carrots and grate them finely. Finely chop the onion. Place all the vegetables into a large bowl and mix thoroughly.
  • Prepare the dressing: In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, kefir (or sour cream), milk, mustard, vinegar, lemon juice, sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth.
  • Finishing the salad: Pour the dressing over the prepared vegetables and mix well so all the ingredients are combined. Cover the salad and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Serving: After chilling, mix the salad once more and serve as a side dish or a light meal.
