Preparation procedure

  • Preparing the pudding: Pour the milk into a saucepan, add the granulated sugar, instant coffee and pudding. Stir the mixture with a whisk to avoid lumps. Cook a thick pudding over constant stirring. Once it's done, cover it with plastic wrap and let it cool to room temperature.
  • Preparing the batter: In a bowl, whisk the eggs with the powdered sugar. In a small bowl, mix the warm water with the instant coffee and stir until the coffee dissolves. Add this coffee mixture to the egg mixture and whisk again. Add the vegetable oil and mix thoroughly. Sift the flour, baking powder and cocoa into the mixture and beat until a smooth batter forms. Grease a baking sheet with butter, dust with flour and pour the batter onto it. Bake in a preheated oven at 175 °C for about 20–25 minutes, until the batter passes the toothpick test.
  • Preparing the first filling: In a bowl, beat the butter with the powdered sugar and coffee until smooth. Add the whipped pudding to the butter mixture and gradually beat it in. Add the sour cream and mix everything thoroughly. Spread the finished filling evenly over the cooled base and place in the refrigerator for an hour to set.
  • Preparing the second filling: In a large bowl, whip the whipping cream until stiff. Spread it evenly over the coffee filling and place in the refrigerator overnight so the dessert sets well.
  • Serving: Before serving, you can decorate the top of the coffee slices as you like. You can use chocolate shavings, coffee beans or other decorations.
