Preparation procedure

  • Preparing the base mixture Crumble the sandwich bread into a bowl and pour over the milk. Let it soak for a moment, then gently squeeze out the excess liquid. Place the minced meat, eggs, pressed garlic, chopped parsley into a large bowl, season with salt and pepper and add the bread. Work the mixture thoroughly so it holds together.
  • Thickening and shaping Sprinkle in the breadcrumbs and adjust the consistency so you can form a firm patty. Shape smaller patties from the meat mixture and coat them in plain flour.
  • Frying the patties Heat oil in a pan and fry the patties on both sides until golden. Then set them aside and let them drain on a paper towel.
  • Preparing the sauce Finely chop the onions and sauté them in a little fat until golden. Pour in the light beer and let it simmer for a few minutes until some of the liquid evaporates and the sauce thickens.
  • Combining the flavors Place the patties into the pan with the sauce, cover and simmer 10–15 minutes over low heat. The meat will absorb the flavor of the beer and onions and become exceptionally juicy.
