Ingredients

Preparation procedure

  • Cabbage and vegetables Clean the cabbage and cut it into thin strips. Peel the carrot and grate it finely. Heat the oil in a wide pan or a deep pot, add the cabbage and sauté for 6–8 minutes until it wilts.
  • Seasoning and simmering Add the grated carrot, salt, pepper (optionally add caraway) and stir in the tomato paste. Briefly sauté, then pour in 100 ml of water, stir and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes.
  • Potatoes Peel the potatoes, cut them into smaller cubes and add to the cabbage. Stir, cover and simmer for another 12–15 minutes, until the potatoes soften (add water by the spoonful if needed).
  • Sausage, onion and mushrooms In a second pan without additional fat, fry the sausage cut into cubes. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until golden. Stir in the sliced mushrooms (and optionally crushed garlic) and fry for 4–5 minutes, until the mushrooms release and then reabsorb their juices.
  • Combining and finishing Transfer the sausage mixture to the cabbage and potatoes, mix everything thoroughly and heat together for another 2–3 minutes. Taste and adjust with salt and pepper. Sprinkle chopped parsley on the plate.
