Preparation procedure

  • Preparing the dough Preheat the oven to 200 °C. Unfold the puff pastry, optionally roll it out slightly into a rectangle about 0.5 cm thick.
  • Filling Cut the ham into strips. On one half of the pastry, evenly place the slices of ham and sprinkle with the grated cheese. Leave the edges free by about 2 cm.
  • Assembly and cutting Fold the other half of the pastry over the filling and gently press the edges. Cut into strips 1.5–2 cm wide. You can gently twist each strip so the sticks get a nice shape.
  • Baking Transfer the sticks to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush them with the beaten egg and optionally sprinkle with herbs or seeds. Bake for 18–20 minutes until golden.
