The dough is ready in a few minutes, no complications – just divide into two layers, fill with the apple filling and bake until golden. Preparation procedure

  • Dough In a bowl mix the flour with the baking powder and powdered sugar. Add the egg, sour cream and melted fat. Work into a smooth, pliable dough. Divide it into 2 equal parts.
  • Layers Roll each piece into a rectangle the size of the baking sheet. Transfer the bottom layer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. (Optional) Lightly sprinkle the bottom layer with breadcrumbs/ground sponge biscuits.
  • Filling Briefly stew the grated apples with sugar and cinnamon, just until warmed and they release a little juice. Let cool to lukewarm and spread evenly over the bottom layer.
  • Closing the cake Cover with the second layer, prick the surface with a fork. Optionally brush with beaten egg for a nice shine.
  • Baking Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for about 30–40 minutes, until the cake turns golden.
  • Serving Let cool, cut into slices. Serve plain, lightly dusted with sugar, or with sour cream.
