Preparation procedure

  • Preparing the dough: In a bowl, mix all the ingredients for the dough: all-purpose flour, vanilla pudding powder, powdered sugar, softened butter, eggs, baking powder and milk. Work the dough and divide it into 3 equal parts. Roll out each part and bake them in the oven. Bake on a greased and floured baking sheet (30 × 35 cm) for approximately 10 minutes at 150 °C.
  • Preparing the cream: Cook the pudding according to the classic method: mix the pudding powders with about 50 g powdered sugar and part of the milk, bring the remaining milk to a boil. When the milk is boiling, add the pudding mixture and cook until thickened. Beat the remaining powdered sugar with the butter until smooth. After the pudding has cooled, add the butter mixture and mix thoroughly.
  • Assembling the dessert: Place the first baked layer of dough on the baking sheet and spread 1/3 of the cream on it. Continue with the other layers and cream in the same way. You should finish with the cream. Top the dessert with baby sponge biscuits (ladyfingers) to taste.
  • Glaze: Melt the dark chocolate with the butter and pour this mixture over the ladyfingers.
  • Chilling: Chill the dessert in the refrigerator overnight so that the flavors meld and the dessert firms up.
