Traditional recipe for homemade sea buckthorn syrup
Ingredients:
- 1 kg fresh sea buckthorn,
- 1 kg quality honey (or 700 g sugar for longer shelf life),
- (optional) juice of 1 lemon for freshness.
Method 1 – with honey (the healthiest option)
- Wash the sea buckthorn and let it drain.
- Blend the berries into a smooth purée.
- Strain the juice through a fine sieve or cloth.
- Mix with honey in a 1 : 1 ratio and add the lemon juice.
- Pour into glass bottles and store in the refrigerator.
This syrup is not cooked, so it retains all vitamins and lasts up to 2–3 months.
Method 2 – with boiling (longer shelf life)
- Crush the sea buckthorn and put it into a pot.
- Add the sugar and 500 ml of water.
- Simmer over low heat for 20–30 minutes.

This method preserves the syrup, so it will last the whole winter.
How to consume the syrup
- 1–2 tablespoons every morning on an empty stomach,
- or diluted with water as an energy drink,
